Hi! I'm Lynn!
Special Education Teacher turned Dyslexia Tutor! After a decade of chasing the "how to" of teaching reading, I finally discovered the Science of Reading. I had no idea at the time, what this new learning in Orton-Gillingham methodology was actually going to do for my students and my teaching practice.
Today, I run a thriving tutoring center in the Willamette Valley! I have trained many tutors how to successfully implement the OG lesson plan with fidelity, and with great results! Collectively we have taught over 1,000 students to read successfully!
I want to share this "magic" with you!
I am a CERI Certified, Structured Literacy Teacher. I have a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and 1,000's of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring hours in the OG methodology. I also have a dyslexic child.

What others are Saying...
Dyslexia Decoded is a great professional development from which all Special Education teachers would greatly benefit. Lynn does an amazing job of explaining what dyslexia is and how it affects students that we see as having a Specific Learning Disability in the elementary school setting. You will learn a lot about how the brain interprets speech and language and how this then affects a student's ability to learn to read. There are videos showing precise instructional strategies that will aid in how you can provide specially designed instruction to our most vulnerable student population, along with multiple resources on how to plan and implement the strategies that will support your learners. I have been able to put into daily practice the understanding, strategies, and techniques I learned in Dyslexia Decoded with not only my students who have a SLD but also my students who are experiencing a delay in developing age-appropriate phonological awareness. My students have shown great progress in utilizing these strategies in just the past four months. Students are able to isolate, delete, and segment sounds better than ever! They are able to sound out words better to assist in their spelling, and they are much more actively engaged in their reading and writing instruction. Dyslexia Decoded is what every Special Education teacher - or teacher of beginning readers - needs!
